Reglab Trust & Safety Index in the Digital Economy
The first continuous and structured indicator to measure how Brazilian users perceive the level of Trust & Safety across the main platforms of the digital economy.
The end of scattered metrics and intuition in the digital debate
The public and regulatory debate regarding digital platforms has become more intense, more politically sensitive, and increasingly influenced by diffuse perceptions concerning risks, reputation, content, personal data, and user protection.
Fragmentation
Existing metrics are scattered: isolated studies and partial indicators that capture only fractions of the problem.
Data Gap
Existing metrics are partial and capture only fractions of the problem.
Politicization
Topics such as data protection and disinformation have migrated from the technical debate to the political arena.
The Solution

The four dimensions of analysis

Global perception of credibility and reliability.
"Generally speaking, I feel I can trust this [Platform]."
Data Security
Protection of personal data, privacy, and exposure to digital risks.
"I feel that my personal data and account are secure."
Information Integrity

Methodology Highlights
Nationally representative sample with quotas for age, class, region, and gender.
Fair Comparison: The index does not compare distinct categories (e.g., social media is not compared with delivery platforms).
Data collection partnership with the structured online panel Offerwise, a recognized company in digital research and opinion polling.
100% focus on perception, without audience weighting.
What we found in Inaugural Report
The "Zero Survey" establishes the baseline (base point 1) for future tracking.
Generational Breakdown
Millennials show significantly higher levels of trust than Gen Z across all dimensions.
Income and Security
There is a disparity in the perception of data security linked to social class, indicating that trust reflects material capabilities.
Gender and Care
Women and men have similar overall trust, but women demand much more responsibility from platforms when it comes to protecting adolescents.
